DSaT TRAINS OVER 140 SCIENCE JOURNALISTS IN ZAMBIA.

By Alfonso Kasongo
A science advocacy Non Governmental Organisation Dziwa Science and Technology Trust (DSaT) has since 2021 trained 143 science journalists in Zambia in order to promote science communication.
Journalists received a number of trainings through the LinK Science to Society (LinkSS) project.
LinkSS Principal, Veronica Mwaba who is the founder of DSaT expresses happiness that a number of journalists have now taken science communication seriously as their specialisation.
Ms Mwaba is hopeful that the training of the 143 journalists will change the narrative of science journalism in the country adding that more has to be done to encourage science reporting.
She adds that Zambia needs locally research-based solutions to some of the challenges the southern African country is facing charging that science journalism remains crucial to communicate research findings.
