GOVT. APPLAUD DSAT FOR THE POSITIVE FIGHT AGAINST COVID 19

Ministry of Health Spokesperson Dr. Abel Kabalo applauded Dziwa Science and Technology Trust (DSat) move of training and supporting journalist in the coverage of Covid 19 messages.
Dr. Kabalo who spoke on behalf of the Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo noted that they are encouraged because they are receiving support from President Hakainde Hichilema who even showed it by way of lobbying for Covid 19 funds when he went to the United Nations General Assembly last month.
He also encouraged people to get vaccinated from Covid 19, as many have done so as evidenced by the decline in the number of cases.
Dr. Kabalo disclosed that his ministry through support from government is ready for the 4th wave which is looming as reported in Europe.
He applauded DSat for the research and media trainings that they have conducted also the science research.
Meanwhile, DSat Executive Director Ms. Veronica Mwaba appreciated the work that the media has done of informing and educating the masses on the dangers and preventive measures that should be taken.
“We are gathered to look at ways to combat the 4th wave which is being reported in Europe and as a country that has managed the previous cases we are set to manage it,” she disclosed.
Mwaba added that previously, Zambians counted on the local experts to do the job saving lives and they need to be applauded for the job well done.
She reminded that people should take advantage of observing five golden rules which includes personal hygiene, something that can be done by each and every person, and we must adhere to what experts are saying.
Mwaba reminded that greater is the responsibility that lies ahead of us to help fight the scurge and the other way is through media engagement which DSat is doing by way of having workshops and media trainings educating them on the way of reporting.
